Ain't a bad sight !

On the edge of the Wild West

It's been a long time since I wanted to create a western american landscape. Here I mixed Glossy Mountains, Monument Valley and Grand Canyon.

As I am quite fond of thunderstorms ambiances in the great plains, I chose to add a stormy sky to wrap up my scene.

Ain't a bad sight !

I wanted to convey a sense of immense bare landscape added with the colours of a storm at sunset.

I picked this thumbnail to start with.

Created the scene in Blender accordingly

Added some people around a campfire, and vegetetion, also testing different skyes.

Testing the colour of rocks, this one was far too red!

Now approching to something realistic, vegetetion was not at the good scale.

A lot of paintover, light corrections and postprocessing and we have a final image.
