Naos Supernova

Naos is a super-hero originating from the far reaches of the galaxy . On her home planet, she used to work as a scientist specialising in the of crystal meteorites gathered at their crash landing sites. Her researches were meant to find a solution to the  coming « end of the world ». As a matter of fact, the nearest star was a dying blue giant at the end of its life cycle, and an solution to save the planet had to be found.

One day, Naos discovered an unknown kind of crystal and brought it back to her lab to run some tests on it. The crystal picked her peers’ curiosity. She discovered that the crystal was coming from the dying star and that it could generate an infinite amount of energy for the planet.

As she stayed late one night in her lab to work on a device designed to free the energy of the  crystal, one of the scientists, consumed by jealousy threw himself at her in rage and tried to strangle her. While both were struggling, Naos lost the upper hand and her foe held her head in the still operating device tapping the crystal ‘s energy. The experimental laser pierced her head. Light started pouring out of her eyes, and a few seconds later, an explosion blasted the building. Waking up alone at the bottom of a thirty-five feet wide crater, Naos was still holding the crystal in her hand. It was intact, and she felt a strange energy coursing through her body.

A few minutes later, the huge star started to show signs that its end was near. Was the crystal directly linked to the star ? Then came the last step : the star burst into a super nova which vaporised the planet.

The energy wave passed through Naos like light through glass, and she found herself catapulted into space at incredible speed. When she came back to her senses, she was still floating into space. She didn’t need oxygen to breathe, nor did she felt cold and she discovered that she could fly and sling bolts of light.

Thus began Naos’ odyssey. She traveled from planet to planet and decided to use her cosmic powers to help populations.
